Hi, I’m Ashley ashton.
I am a heterosexual cisfemale who identifies as Caucasian. I use she | her pronouns. I currently live in the midwest, but my heart belongs to Seattle. I love plants, hiking, travel, dogs and my cat Todd.
I have a Masters in Social Work from Indiana University. I explored different majors at University, but ultimately was drawn towards human behavior and cognition. Living in Seattle exposed me to the natural healing that nature can provide. That knowledge has led me to incorporate indoor plants and nature into my practice through mindfulness and mediation.
Working with me will open your senses to the world around you, allowing you to pull calming emotions from nature. Emotional dysregulation, whether created from depression, anxiety, trauma, or feeling overwhelmed by the daily bustle, can create a barrier preventing retrieval of skills to help you cope. By incorporating nature into your recovery, stepping outside becomes an activator, stimulating cognitive pathways and granting access to coping resources.
My Approach
I practice from a strengths-based and person-centered approach. I believe in and understand the importance of each client’s autonomy in their own treatment. I will work with you to understand you as an individual and the complex systems in which you live. My theoretical orientation is rooted trauma-informed practices, cognitive behavioral therapy [CBT], dialectical behavioral therapy [DBT], solution focused therapy, mindfulness and meditation practices, and EMDR.

Hi, I’m ANDY MARKERT.
I am a cisgender white male who uses he/him pronouns. I currently call Seattle, Washington, home, but I have lived all over the US, from rural Georgia to New York City. I am happy to have found my home here in the temperate rainforest of the Pacific Northwest. My passions are literature, animals, and nerd culture.
I hold a Master's in Social Work from Seattle University with a concentration in trauma-informed care. I began my career in the arts in New York City before finding my calling in exploring the complexities of social justice, anti-oppressive practice, and human cognition. My time in Seattle has honed my passion for transformative justice and community building, which I carry into my work as a mental health clinician.
I center my work as a clinician on building connections and facilitating transformation. I strongly believe that no one is an island unto themselves, and I endeavor to help people transform their lives and reconnect with their community. I incorporate elements of mindfulness, meditation, and popular culture into my work as I help clients grow and reach the goals they seek.
My Approach
I am an integrative practitioner utilizing a person-centered and strengths-based approach to therapy. I center my work in the core principles of trauma-informed care, focusing on safety, consistency, trust, and client autonomy in treatment. Together, we will build a treatment plan that works towards your goals. I utilize a variety of therapeutic orientations, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), somatic psychotherapy, and solutions-focused therapy – all to help each client meet their individual and unique treatment goals.

Hi, I’m Abby Blomer
Hello! My name is Abby, I am a queer cisfemale and identify as caucasian and use she/her pronouns. I’ve lived in the Midwest my whole life and love the fall in Indiana. In my free time, I prioritize activities that ground me such as painting or watching movies. I also love animals, especially my two cats!
I am currently in my final semesters at Indiana University completing my master’s degree in counseling psychology! Throughout my time at IU I have taken numerous art classes and classes focused on the role art plays in counseling. These classes allowed me to see the power of art in healing and I enjoy incorporating many types of art into counseling.
My Approach
As a clinician, I will work with clients to develop a safe environment to process emotions and build coping skills. I use art and dialectical skills to enhance understanding of oneself and increase resilience. Working with me will focus on creating a life you find joy in and tackling barriers in your recovery.

Hi, I’m Rachel Gerbick.
I am a white, cisgender queer woman and use she/her pronouns. While I am currently residing in Bloomington, IN, I was raised in northwest Indiana near Lake Michigan. Many of my interests have been held since childhood, as I have always loved spending time outside, reading, writing, and doing a wide array of crafts. I deeply enjoy hiking and traveling and am also entirely content sitting at home with my senior kitty, crocheting and watching sci-fi movies.
My undergraduate degrees, a B.S. in neuroscience and a B.S. in psychology, were completed at Indiana University. While working through my M.S.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling and Counselor Education (also at IU), I spend most of my days in class or working at a day care/preschool. My experience there, paired with my graduate coursework has reminded me of the importance of emotional grounding and how it can be gained through play and immersion in nature. Holding onto a childlike sense of wonder, curiosity, and gratitude for the little things can be incredibly helpful in allowing us to come back to and better understand ourselves.
My Approach
In the counseling setting, I aim to prioritize a person-centered approach, collaborating with you to determine the therapeutic path most aligned with your strengths and needs. We will work towards collaboratively-set goals, aligned with your expressed values and the context of your unique life. By taking steps forward in better understanding yourself in the past and present, and your place in the world around you—using techniques grounded in solution-focused therapy, emotions-focused therapy, play therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy—we will move together towards wherever it is that you want to be.
